System Overview
An ID system provides everything you need to quickly and easily get your card printing program up and running. While an ID card printer can be purchased as a stand-alone piece of equipment, it does not come with all of the necessary supplies to begin making iD cards.
Our bundled systems contain supplies and equipment that seamlessly work together. ID systems include a printer, software, ribbon, camera, cards, on-site installation w/ training and a loaner printer program.
With 15 years in the iDentification business Custom iD Systems has combined the best iD products into our packages. There are many printers, softwares and cameras out in the market and they all produce an identification card. CiDS has taken the most reliable, easy to use identification products and created simple straight forward systems to choose from.
At CiDS our primary market is Education. Though these systems can be used by any market requiring identification cards, we based these systems off the needs and expectations of schools.
Features and Configuration
All systems, with the exception of the Intro Systems, feature the same printer, which can produce a single side iD card in 19 seconds. Intro iD printers produce an iD card in 24 seconds. The iD software is based on the Microsoft Office platform, so maneuvering through the iD process is just like working on a Excel spreadsheet. Just like you can sort your records in Excel, in Asure iD the process has been simplified. Sort by grade, last name and who has or has not taken a picture.
CiDS configures the Asure iD software to store the photos outside of the database in a folder location, by the student or faculty iD number. The photo folder location can be shared with other SIS within the campus so that all end users of these applications will have the most current photo of the student. These photos can also be shared with on-campus police or local law enforcement agencies, if the need arises. Another benefit to having the photos stored outside the database is the ability to copy photos into this folder location. Photos taken by LifeTouch, Strawbridge, Sams Studio, or any other company that captures your student school photos can simply be merged with Asure iD database.
System Differences
So what is the difference between our systems? The capture solution!
Our Intro and Basic systems come with a web camera. This camera takes good photos. The quality of the photo depends on surrounding light. Lighting can cause bright or dark photos. You can make adjustments in the cameras driver settings to compensate, but this requires time. Once the camera is set to the current location, moving the system is not recommended.
The next level is the fastest and best solution, our DSLR capture solution. The DSLR camera has a built in flash which provides clearer and better color accurate photos. The main advantage over the web camera is the built in flash. The DSLR is as fast as the web camera processing time, but with the advantage of a flash for clear, color accurate photos. The DSLR solution is recommend for large middle schools and high schools who process large groups of students during registration.
Also, the Primacy printers have dual sided printing capabilities over the Intro Zenius printer. You can convert your single sided Primacy to a dual sided printer with a drop-in RFID unlock key. Along with the ability to unlock the dual sided printing capabilities the Primacy's can be upgraded with many encoding options, if the need arises in the future. Another reason why CiDS has chosen the Primacy as our primary printer. The printer can grow as your needs grow.
